Interior architecture

Applicants must also return their completed application to ESAIL and indicate at least two dates on which they are available to go to ESAIL. During the interview, applicants will be expected to present the key projects they have completed in interior architecture.

Admission will be confirmed only after the prepared degree (e.g., BTS in spatial design) is obtained.

Deadlines: Admissions applications must be sent in May for review in the first two weeks of June. Admission is dependent on the applications received and the number of places available.

Admission requirements

First-year admissions
(Interior Architecture/Interior Design)


Complete the application (dossier de candidature) and send it along with the required documents to the following address: ESAIL- 7-9 rue Jean Marie Leclair – 69009 LYON  – France

Applicants must indicate on their application at least two dates on which they are available to go to ESAIL. Applicants will subsequently be contacted to set a date for an admissions interview and the competency test. Once set, this date cannot be changed.


Admission is subject to :

  • Review of the past two years of the applicant’s academic record.
  • A face-to-face admissions interview.
  • A competency test.

Note: Drawing skills are not required to apply for admission. Students learn these skills during year one.

Deadlines: Admissions applications are accepted during the months of January, February, March and April. Due to the limited number of places available, it is best to submit your application by February at the latest.
